Wisdom Powers lead acid battery

The factors that affect the service life of Wisdom Power’s lead-acid battery are mainly as follows:

(1) Ambient temperature:

High ambient temperature is the typical factor affecting the service life of the battery, battery manufacturers’ requirements of ambient temperature is in commonly 20 ~ 25 , with the increase of temperature, battery discharge ability has also improved, but when the environment temperature is more than 25 , the service life of the battery will be reduced accordingly.

(2) Excessive discharge:

Excessive discharge of battery is another important factor that affects the life of battery.

The battery life depends on its discharge depth, the greater the discharge depth, the shorter the service life.

When the battery is over-discharged to the output voltage of zero, it will cause a large amount of lead sulfate to be absorbed into the cathode surface of the battery, forming the "sulfuric acid" of the battery cathode.

As lead sulfate itself is an insulator, its formation will have a bad effect on the charge and discharge performance of the battery.

Therefore, the more sulfates formed on the cathode plate, the greater of the internal resistance of the battery, the worse of the charge and discharge performance of the battery, the shorter of the service life.

Can not discharge completely, avoid excessive discharge, the best discharge range is between 30% and 50%.

(3)The corrosion and growth of plate grid:

The corrosion of plate grid is an important factor affecting the service life of battery.

If the battery is not properly used, the battery's grid will be thinner and lower in capacity, which will shorten the service life.

(4) The effect of floating charging state on battery life:

At present, most of the battery is in the long-term floating charge state, only charge, do not discharge, this work state is unreasonable.

A large number of statistical data shows that this will cause the passivation of the anode plate of the battery, which will increase the internal resistance of the battery and make the actual capacity of the battery (AH) is far below its standard capacity, so that the actual backup power time provided by the battery can be greatly shortened and its service life reduced.

(5) Water loss:

Battery water loss is one of the factors that affects the service life of battery, water loss will lead to electrolyte density increase, battery grid corrosion, reduce the active substance of the battery, thus reduce the capacity of battery and decrease its service life.

(6) Whether the initial charging is good will seriously affect the battery life.

Must be in full charge state, insufficient charge will reduce the battery life.

(7) It is not advisable to join the battery of different manufacturers or different ampere. This will reduce the battery life.

5. Battery charging method:

(1) Semi-fixed current charging mode (simple mode)

This method is easy to operate and is widely used in batteries for recycling. The charger is composed of a transformer, a dipole, and a resistance. The impedance generated in these components ensures that the charging current is not charged. Because of its simple structure, the manufacturing cost is low. In this way, the charging current will drop when the battery voltage rises during the charging process.

There is a problem when the battery is charging at the last stage, it will still cause overcharging when charging at a large current. Attention to avoid overcharging time.

(2) Fixed current charging mode.

It is easy to calculate the charging time and the amount of charge, but an expensive circuit is required to calculate the current accurately. Therefore, this method is not commonly used.

 (3) Fixed voltage charging mode (fixed current and fixed voltage charging mode)

This method is to provide the voltage of the battery in a fixed voltage. This method uses different voltage from the battery to charge the battery. The charging current is initially large and gradually reduces to its charging end. It requires charging voltage based on battery charging and temperature characteristics. Incorrect voltage will lead to overcharging or unsaturated charging.

Large capacity charging units, starting with a large current, will lead to higher costs. The current setting voltage charging method of limiting the initial current is widely used in circulating and floating battery.

In summary, customers who buy Wisdom Power’s maintenance free lead-acid batteries must pay attention to these areas when using batteries.
